Forest Fires in the Ashtray

Ask me anything   Submit   Close the door and cover me in shadows.

    3:13 am

    There it is again.

    Stare. Swallow. Breathe.

The flutter of a thousand butterflies

taking up residency in this cave.

    Perhaps they enjoy the scenery.

The supposed serenity of chain drinking

rosewater tea with Manuka honey sticking to lips.

Or the forest fires blazing in the ashtray.

    Sip. Swallow. Shallow breaths.

    Wondering if butterflies worry about

things like delaying the increase of entropy or

smog and street lights inhibiting the glow of stars.

    Whatever their worries,

    they clumsily dance about

wings on top of wings in this hollow

    while I overflow with curiosity.

    Wondering if I’m pretty enough

to end up in one of your body bags.

Every time you’re happy, you remember how sad you’re going to be. And it breaks your heart. Because what’s the point in being happy now if you’re going to be sad later. The answer is, of course, because you are going to be sad later.

But, this is your heart, can you feel it?

Make a home out of your body, live in yourself, do not let people turn you into a regret, do not justify yourself. If you are a disaster it is not forever, if you are a disaster you are the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen. Do not deconstruct from the inside out, you belong here, you belong here, not because you are lovely, but because you are more than that.

Polish graffiti duo Etam Cru, composed of artists Sainer and Bezt, create murals of epic proportions. Spanning entire high-rise buildings, their works are heavily dosed with fantasy, even fairytale elements. Hints of Easter European folklore (mushrooms and forest creatures make frequent appearances) make their way into the action-packed scenes reminiscent of graphic novels. Every aspect of the color-saturated murals seems to be in motion: animals and houses alike come to life, human characters gain abilities that defy the laws of physics. (source: Hi-Fructose Magazine)
